Hi,

I have been experiencing pain in my right breast about 15 minutes after BF. It feels like the duct, comes from my arm pit to the nipple.
I wonder if it's a blocked duct and one day my poor daughter will be flooded with milk!
Has anyone else had this issue?

It throbs at times for several minutes.

Linda

I would try massaging the area as your daughter nurses. If its hot notty and hot and red I would not think its a plugged duct. But your DD might not be emptying that duct properly. I would try different positions with her during feeding. Football hold... normal position. Try feeding her from the side. Have her legs going around the outside of your body. Switching positions will insure she is putting the proper pressure on all your ducts so they are getting emptied all the way. Your ducts do run all the way up under your armpit. So do try the switching and massaging ... see if that helps

a hot shower or even a medium hot water bottle plus the massage could also help loosen up the blocked duct.

oops I glad you understood my post. I just read what I wrote. I meant if your breast was NOT hot and all of that. Its probably not a plugged duct. Or not completely plugged anyway.:)
