Hi - I was on the protocol for a few months when we received a last minute match. I've been pumping for about 2 weeks and am up to about 3 oz per day. However, we just found out this morning that birth mother delivered yesterday and decided to parent. I'm not sure what to do now.

I find pumping uncomfortable and do not want to do it indefinitely. Do I stop pumping but stay on the dom? Add back bpc? Stop everything and restart the protocol when we have another match? It all seems like such a gamble because we don't know how soon we will match again and how much lead time we'll get with that match.

Thanks for any insight....

I also hated pumping so I personally would not pump indefinitely. If I had been in your situation, I would start back on the bcp's and continue the protocol with the dom and bcps until I was matched again. Then you can decide if you want to pump ahead.

I was on the protocol for 9 months when we got a last minute stork drop.

I was on it 11 months when we adopted our second daughter (we were matched for about 3 months, but I only started pumping about 2 weeks before our daughter was born).

Thanks, Jennifer! I think I'm going to take a few weeks off (I also hate bcp) and then follow your advice (and keep my fingers crossed for a match).
