Melissa,

Also, check that the "horns" you are using are not too small. If they are too small your nipples rub up against them and you will be sore. I was also pumping on high (bad). I had sore nipples when I was pumping and someone on this website (I think Nona!) adviced me to lower the pumping suction and try bigger horns - after that I had no problem.

Thanks Nona, the breast tenderness is gone, now I jst have very sensitive nipples. I have the suction set at about half way, so I should be okay with that. They aren't sore, just very sensitive.

I received my halter for pumping. It is fabulous! I feel like I am managing my time so much better and I can get more things accomplished.

Sarah,

Start taking the herbs. I'm still not pumping gallons, but then I have only been pumping a couple of weeks. I started taking the herbs right away. Some days it seems that all I do is pump and take pills, but I am at least able to save up the little bit that I am producing. Hang in there!

Jeanne,

I don't think that the breast sheilds are too small, if anything they are too large! I actually bought the inserts for small breasted women, but they didn't seem to make much difference so I don't use them. You know, I was really looking forward to being a size larger, but it isn't working out that way. Oh well, I guess I get to stay in the Small Breasted Women's Club. Thanks!

My nipples were a bit tender and sore in the begining as well. I massaged the milk residue ( that was left on my nipples after pumping and feeding) on the nipples and surrounding area. It was a great moisturizer and worked wonders for me. I only used my Lanolin cream twice.

Oh...my breast didn't seem to be growing I woke up one day and I needed a larger bra cup. Yipppeee

Hi,
You can also put olive oil on your nipples or on the phlanges before you pump,,the Lansinoh is a good idea after you pump..make sure if you use lanolin it is pure, like Lansinoh.
Nona:
Wow, 6 weeks along, and worked the first try! How great..
We had to hire a second attorney to oversee our first one in Guatemala..worse part is we still have to pay the first one!
Ana is now 5.5 months old,,our first attorney did not start her case until she was 5 months old. This new attorney thinks he can have her home in another 3.5 months...our first attorney it would have been another 9-12 months...hopefully she will be home at 9 months and I will still have a shot at nursing her..take care, Cathy

NG protocol 7 months.pumped 5/15-9/15 started pumping again 1/26/04 Ana born 6/03.home 3/30/04 trying to nurse!
