Just wanted to let you know that the domestic situation did not work out for us. The birthmom changed her mind right after the baby was born. My big boys and I were there in Chicago in the hospital at the time, but I never held the baby or anything. I only saw the baby for a minute-- beautiful---and don't blame the birthmom a bit for deciding to parent... she was really torn up by the situation and felt so bad for changing her mind. But she just did not have peace about relinquishing. I am praying it will all work out for her.

Jared and Daniel and I turned it into a nice little trip in spite of spending Christmas away from family--we went to see "The Return of The King", went shopping, ate M&M's, went to a Christmas Eve service at a church right next to our hotel, and played hours of Gameboy. Quality bonding time. I was so glad they were there with me-- it really helped redeem the situation. Got home safe on Christmas Day to family very glad to see us.

Please pray as we decide whether to give up on the US til after Emily ( 18 mo) comes home from Ethiopia or wait on one more situation that has been offered to us... a birthmom due in a couple weeks.... we just don't know if we can or should try this again.... especially with Emily coming home in 2 months. (Praise God) Of course I am also wondering about continuing to pump. But have decided to continue at least a few more days....seems such a shame to just quit after all these months...

Just thought you all would want to know what was going on....

Mary, I am so sorry the situation did not work out for you. I was sure it was the one for your family.
I know your heart must be aching right now. If you are up for it, I would wait out the new situation. It's only a few weeks. But if it's too much, don't be afraid to put off another domestic adoption until after your daughter comes home. No one will blame you for looking out for your family first.
Hugs, DawnL

Mary, I am sorry to hear about your adoption plan fall through, but excited to hear of your choosing joy! God is so good, isn't He!?! I had an adoption fall through (one that I thought was a sure thing because the girl was in prison) back in the beginning of May and was just devastated, but prayed for what God wanted for me from it. God soon let me know what He wanted me to be doing. The day I began obedience in that area, we received a call that our precious Jaida Rose had been born and she was to be ours! I would suggest waiting it out your few weeks and see what God has in store! In Christ, Sandra

Mary,

I just want to say that when the right little baby joins your family, he or she will be VERY blessed for the rest of their life.

I admire you,
