I know I will be nursing him. Do I also continue to pump? If so when? Will I be on the domperidone and herbs forever? Any special hints or tips?

Thank you so much!

Are you going to be pumping for 6 weeks before the arrival of your baby? If so chances are you may not need to pump after feeds. Not everyone needs to, you will know as the time approaches and Lenore can advise on that. As for the Dom and herbs, plan to stay on them yes. Some women wean themselves off of dom but usually at the risk of their supply. As your milk establishes later you can try to reduce the amount you take and see how you do. But you should plan to be taking some dom for the entire time that you are nursing your child. As for the herbs I took mine the whole time. So I don't know on that question.

Thanks! I will have been pumping for about 10 weeks once this little guy is born so I'm hoping to get rid of my pump. If not, well, then that's how it goes. lol I can cope with the pills, I'm actually getting used to them now.

I'm up to 8oz a day now and so proud of myself.

For the longest time I didn't get much. Then at about 3 weeks pumping I started to get a bit more each time. I'm still getting a tiny bit more every few days. I think it's a very individual thing and takes a lot of time and waiting. (both emotionally and physically) I hear of women who are getting 20oz by now, but figure I may never get that much. I'm just happy to be getting anything so I can nurse out little one (in 56 days or less!)

My triplets are four months, breastfed exclusively. I started weaning from the Dom last month. This pst week I seem to notice a dip in my supply. I'm not sure if I'm dehydrated, if my guys are in a growth spurt, or if it's just my imagination, but I'm going back on the full dosage!

As far as the amount you're pumping-- before my trio was born I was getting about 2 oz per 15-20 minute session. In the first two days of their lives taht amount quadrupled. I have never needed to supplement.

COngratulations on your coming little one! I hope everything goes smoothly! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
