For those of you who already have your milk in, can you tell me what it was like for you the first week? I feel like I'm doing pretty well, but I would love to hear from you successful nursers and see how you started out.

I've been adding up my total from midnight to midnight... I pumped 8ml total the first day, 7ml total the 2nd, 12 ml the 3rd day, and now it is 4pm on day 4 and I have 10ml so far.

That sounds about what I was doing I was getting 20 ml by I think 7 to 10 days. I started pumping July 30. Now I am supplying about 1/2 of my babys needs. He is 3 days old.

Can I ask what protocol you two where using and for how long. thanks

I am on the regular protocol. I took the dom and bcp's for 16 weeks, and just started pumping 4 days ago.

Here's the run down on my production...

Day 1 - total of 8ml
Day 2 - 7ml
Day 3 - 12ml
Day 4 - 20ml
Today - Already 15ml by noon!

I'm feeling that oh-so-familiar-tingling-sensation after 2-3 hours, it actually reminds me to go pump! Yesterday, I started getting a little stream from one breast instead of just drops. I'm excited to see the production increasing!

I have been pumping every 2-3 hours, and am going no longer than 4 hours at night.

Holly you are doing great! It is exciting to see the milk start to stream isn't it?

Wow! I'm on my 7th day of pumping and am up to 1&1/2oz total today! I hope it just keeps on climbing... It seems like a lot until I think about how much a newborn eats!
